I started raining last night. Enough that I couldn't have my windows open wide, but not so much that I couldn't have them open just a little. I woke up at 7 and it was raining so hard I was pondering ark building. And then it just kept on raining. it didn't stop until 10:30, and by the amount of water in my window sills, it had been raining for quite a while before that.

And we just got over a heat-wave. Oh Danish summer.

Also, I bought a blender. It was on sale and it can crush ice, and I think this baby will have earned itself back in about a month, with the ice coffees and hummus I won't have to buy anymore.

In fact, the home-made ice latte on my desk right now, made it worth every penny.

What precisely is hummus? A guy I used to work with used to make his own and loved it and I've seen it, but have never figured it out.

It's a dip/spread type thing. It's made from chickpeas, olive oil, tahini(which is a paste of sesame seeds), lemon juice and garlic and sometimes chili and cumin, all blended up together. I love it. It's a little tangy, a little spicy, a little garlicy, and you can use it with so many things. mmmm.

exactly! It's yummy *and* it's healthier than regular dips.
I especially like it with 'rustic' bread and carrot sticks. :)
